A few minutes' walk from the Main Market Square and Wawel Castle, in Kraków's Kazimierz district, you'll find Layla Resto Bar. It's a place where Lebanese hospitality meets a relaxed, atmospheric setting: stone vaulted ceilings, warm candlelight and lanterns, and the scent of cardamom, all inspired by the ancient temples of Baalbek. Here is what we suggest ordering on your first visit. You will find the full selection in our menu.
Start with mezze
Lebanese food is best shared. Cold mezze such as hummus, baba ghannouj, muhammara, labneh, makdous and fattouch are made for the middle of the table. Order a few and let everyone reach for their favourite.
Straight from the grill
If you're a meat lover, try the tawouk (marinated chicken), kafta, kafta arayes or the mix grill. Everything is cooked over live fire with classic Lebanese spices.
Something sweet
Finish the evening with a cup of traditional Lebanese coffee, or try osmanliyeh, a sweet dessert with Ottoman roots.
More than a meal
The bar menu features cocktails and wine as well as shisha. Layla also hosts regular events: quizzes, speaking clubs, language exchange meetings, speed friending, belly dance nights and Lebanese-themed evenings. Many are open to locals, visitors and international residents alike. For New Year's Eve we're hosting a Venetian Masquerade Ball, and during the festive season we offer dinners for companies, families and friends.
